Today was supposed to be my first day back at college after the xmas break. I didn't go in as the college is closed today due to weather conditions. I've received an e-mail from Yao-Sensei saying that Japanese class tomorrow is most likely also going to be cancelled as well, so keep an eye on the website. Even if the college is open I doubt that I'll be able to go in as my replacement bus pass still hasn't arrived. I hope it turns up soon.

Rat cmae home from work early today as they weren't getting any customers due to the snow. She then made three massive bowls of really thick soup and discovered some bread rolls in the back of the freezer. Rat makes awesome soup, it's really thick. I was starving hungry and 5 spoonfulls was enough for me! I also had a couple of rolls with loads of butter. I need carbs right now - soooooo coooooooooold!

I feel a lot better after eating. I seem to have a constant low-grade headache so I'm going to go back to bed in a bit and attempt to sleep it off. Then I'm going to bundle up and brave the weather to go round the corner to get some bit from the Co-op. We're low on food, and although we have tons of soup and porridge, we'll need milk, bread, sugar etc. Need to stock up on some protein too, as I don't think I have enough at the moment.

Tonight was also supposed to be the first day of Jacob's dog training classes. It's been cancelled due to the snow, which is a good thing as I wouldn't have been able to get there, but I'm still disappointed becasue I was looking forward to doing the training. Jake got his crate yesterday and he slept in it for the first time last night. Due to my insomnia he was taken out of it for water and the toilet every two hours so he didn't have a chance to mess himself. To be honest I think he was irritated at being woken up all the time when he didn't need to go out!

When wefirst put the crate up we encouraged him to go inside to see if it was the right size for him. He was very uncomfortable in it, but then I found two old quilts upstairs and put them in it and now he loves it! He's sat in there right now, snoring his little head off! I only close him in during the night but it's left open during the day and he happily curls up inside it. I just have to remember to take his collar off before putting him at night. I forgot last night and then suddenly remembered when I was letting him out. I won't make that mistake again.

Walking Jake in this weather is difficult. I tried to take him out last night but it was so slippery I just couldn't keep myself upright - let alone when walking a 110 pound Rottie down the road. I normally take hin out for a 45min to 1 hour walk round the city. Last night I managed to the end of the road and back, and it took 15 minutes. He needs the excercise but it's just too dangerous at the moment. Rat's going to try and take him this evening as she'sa lot more stable on her feet and walked Snoop with only a little difficulty. When the snow clears I'll have to take him to the common for a massive run off-lead to stretch his legs.

Anyways, I'm off for a nap now.
